We are seeking a skilled veterinary technician to join our team at Vet Plus / AAM Group. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with animals, as well as a strong background in veterinary medicine and the ability to work collaboratively with a team.
Responsibilities:
Assist the veterinarian in providing high-quality medical care to animals
Conduct physical exams and obtain patient histories
Collect and analyze laboratory samples, such as blood, urine, and feces
Perform diagnostic tests, such as X-rays and ultrasounds
Administer medications, fluids, and treatments as prescribed by the veterinarian
Prepare animals for surgery and monitor anesthesia during surgical procedures
Provide nursing care and monitor hospitalized patients
Educate clients on animal care and wellness
Maintain accurate medical records and document patient care
Assist with administrative tasks, such as scheduling appointments and answering phones
Requirements:
Certification as a veterinary technician
At least 3 years of experience in a veterinary clinic or hospital setting
Strong knowledge of veterinary medicine and animal care
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work well in a team-oriented environment
Flexibility to work some evenings and weekends.
