We seek a compassionate and skilled Veterinary Nurse to join our team at Canary Pet Centre. The Veterinary Nurse will play a vital role in providing high-quality animal care and support to the veterinary team. This role involves assisting with medical procedures, ensuring the well-being of pets, and maintaining a clean and safe environment.
Key Responsibilities
Animal Care and Treatment:
Assist veterinarians in diagnostic, medical, and surgical procedures.
Administer medications, injections, and treatments as prescribed by the veterinarian.
Monitor hospitalized animals and provide post-operative care.
Client Interaction:
Educate pet owners on preventive care, nutrition, and post-treatment care.
Provide support and empathy during emotional situations involving pet health.
Surgical and Procedural Support:
Prepare and sterilize surgical equipment and assist during surgeries.
Monitor animals under anesthesia and during recovery.
Diagnostic Support:
Collect and prepare samples (blood, urine, etc.) for laboratory analysis.
Operate and maintain diagnostic equipment such as X-ray and ultrasound.
Hygiene and Safety:
Maintain a clean and sterile environment in the clinic and surgical areas.
Adhere to infection control protocols and safety guidelines.
Administrative Tasks:
Maintain accurate patient records and update treatment logs.
Assist in inventory management, including ordering and stocking medical supplies.
